Your Guide to Apple Intelligence Summaries in iOS 18

Apple released iOS 18.2 In December, the tech giant was released after more than a month iOS 18.1. The update brought a number of new Apple Intelligence features Genmoji and Image Playgroundto people who iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max or a device iPhone 16 lineup. However, iOS 18.1 gave those iPhone owners access to Apple Intelligence, which can provide summaries of multiple locations on their device.

with Apple Intelligence and with a compatible iPhone, your device can give you a summary of a long email, web page, Message notifications, and more. It can also show you a summary of what you’ve written in Notes and other messages.

Here’s what you need to know about summaries with Apple Intelligence on iPhone. Note that before you can use Apple Intelligence, you must request it for your iPhone. Go to do it Settings > Apple Intelligence and Siri and tap Get Apple Intelligence.

Summaries in the mail

Sifting through email and email chains for information can be tedious, especially if you send a lot of work email to your device. Thankfully, Apple Intelligence can summarize emails for you so you don’t read too much of an introduction and just want to get to the heart of the message.

To view email summaries, open Mail, select the email you want to read, and then swipe down to reveal the new message. Summarize button. Tap on that and you’ll see some lines of the summary. You can change how many lines of the summary you see by going Settings > Applications > Mail > Preview and choosing from none to five summary lines.

If you use it, it’s important to mention that too Mail Categories of iOS 18.2you can only see AI summaries for emails in your Primary category. Emails in other categories will not give you a summary. If you use List View in Mail, a summary will be available in all your emails.

Notification summaries

With Apple Intelligence, some of your apps can give you a summary of notifications on your Lock Screen, and this feature is enabled by default in most cases. This feature can summarize your notifications in a few words, but be careful when reading them. according to BBCone of the publication’s titles is inaccurately summarized.

If you don’t want to risk reading a bad summary, you can turn this feature off. go away Settings > Notifications > Summarize notifications and tap the links next to the apps you no longer want to receive notification summaries. You can also tap the link next to it Summarize notifications at the top of the menu to disable the feature for all apps.

Web page summary in Safari

Apple Intelligence can also summarize certain web pages in Safari. To view these summaries, open Safari and navigate to a web page, then look to the left of the address bar. You should see some dashes and a glowing rectangle underneath. Tap this icon and it brings up a menu that shows a summary of the web page.

Please note that this feature is not available on all web pages. On web pages, this feature does not work yet, the icon on the left side of the address bar will not have any sparkle.

Summarize text with Writing Tools

Writing Tools is the Apple Intelligence menu that lets you correct, edit, or change anything you type. It also allows you to summarize your message or notes.

To view these summaries, highlight the one you want to summarize, tap Writing Tools in the drop-down menu — you may need to scroll through the options in this menu — and then tap Summary. Writing Tools will show you a summary of what you’ve highlighted, allowing you to Copy it, Replace it and Share it that summary. These summaries can help you prepare for a presentation, allow you to quickly read everything in Notes, or cut down your messages to just the main points.
